Cú Chulainn Blood Bikes - CCBB was formed on the 1st of April 2016 to provide a free ‘not-for-profit’ volunteer motorcycle transportation service for the swift and safe pick-up and delivery of urgently needed Blood, Blood Products, Human Tissue, Patient Files / X - Rays and Infant Milk.

This is mainly between our local Health Service Executive (HSE) hospitals in the North-Eastern Region of Ireland. We also pick-up and deliver at NHS facilities across the border in County Fermanagh. We also network closely with our partner volunteer Blood Bike Groups throughout Ireland, North and South, to provide the fastest most efficient and safest pick-up and delivery service for our hospitals.

Cú Chulainn Blood Bikes utilizes highly trained volunteer riders coupled with specially customized high-powered motorcycles. Our volunteer service relieves the pressure on already strained HSE and NHS ambulance crews and other transportation drivers leaving those full-time medical drivers available in their respective areas to deal with any emergency which might arise. Cú Chulainn Blood Bikes is funded solely on public donations and is affiliated to the prestigious UK based National Association of Blood Bikes (NABB).

We provide our volunteer service to the following hospitals within in the North-Eastern area: - Our Lady's Hospital, Drogheda, County Louth; Cavan General Hospital, County Cavan; Navan General Hospital, County Meath; Louth County Hospital, Dundalk, County Louth and to Monaghan General Hospital in County Monaghan. In addition, we provide a cross-border service into County Fermanagh.
